The next adventure

Topic of the day: May holidays plan

My May Holidays plan is decided:

I'm going to Xinjiang!!!

Together with the most un-Swiss Swiss I've ever met (and a few others along the way), we're heading to Kashgar from Beijing, then go up the Karakorum Highway towards Pakistan.  After entering the Hindu Kush mountains to (hopefully) China's last boarder town with Pakistan, Tashkurgan, we'll return to Kashgar.  From Kashgar, we will make our way east, across the Taklamakan Desert, back to Urumqi.

I can't wait.  :)

holderio,
The most Unswiss Swiss speaking.. What's "Swiss" in your opinion anyway? :)

Am definitely looking forward to our trip and can't wait to swim in lakes lost in the mountains (and get out only once we are slightly blueish), ride some horses and eat some great lamb chwars (and drink goat milk vodka (yep, that stuff exists.. :))

High 5
Dom

i'm with adam on that one - dom, better than books, take movies - that way not only do you not have to look at Cheilababy but you don't have to listen to her either! :)

Sorry Cheila - i'm not changing my opinion about you unless you invite me over to your place for pizza.

I protest all this talk about me being a bad travel companion! As a matter of fact, I am one fine representative of a GREAT travel companion!

Come now, is it so bad that I like to find and shop at a Burberry store... in every city that I go to??? ;-)

obviously you are insecure about your travel companion abilities. why else would you be so defensive?

Thank you anonymous, fully agree. Just like she is about her drinking abilities, which is why she always yaps at the big boys but can never step up.

I still can't believe you stole my travel plan idea. FYI, there was a reason why I'm not doing it over May holidays... the roads may not all be open due to snow. POS.

Have fun eating egg tarts at KFC for breakfast.

Anonymous - The reason, get this, is because we are all friends and we are JOKING around. What a concept!

Digs - Had you done your research, you'd know that the Karakoram highway is currently open. POS. ;-)

I'm sure you'll really enjoy XJ, I was there over the Oct hols. Don't forget your camera because the scenery is excellent. And also, don't go see that man on the mountain who's the only one left in the world who knows how to play some wind instrument. The only thing you'll get from that is trying really hard not to laugh...
