Becoming a Food Junkie
Topic of the day: Photo shoot at Kiss Cafe

This past weekend, I was asked by Marco, the owner of Kiss Cafe (Jianwai SOHO, Beijing) to do some food shots for their website/ menu. I think taking food shots are great fun, so I appreciated the opportunity.
Check out my food set for more shots from Kiss Cafe (they're the last two rows - I'll be adding a few more pictures in the coming days).

Hey Sheila,
I've been prying, and have been looking around on your flickr, and your photos are really good! They evoke many emotions (or maybe it's just me) :)
This might be a dumb question, but you are a professional photographer hey? What sort of photos do you specialise in?
Regards from Melbourne, Heidi
detox???
Are you getting any sort of commission? At least in food?
Don't take this in any other way, except culinary... your pics make me wanna bite into something.
Devrim - Detox is friggin fabulous.
Mel - I didn't get paid for the shot cuz the guy who owns the restaurant is a good friend of my director at work. However, some of my other pictures will be displayed there and I did get a free lunch out of it (mushroom and parma ham risotto). Also tried their fresh juices, which were yum!
Pierre - Go get some gulab jamun! :)
Hey Sheila,
Good luck with photojournalism! I think it's one of the coolest jobs/passions around. If I had steady hands which can actually take pictures without them coming out all blurry, that'll be what I'll pursue too!
Re Melbourne, I actually know Mishie, and Pei-san has spoken about you before, when she was telling me her stories about China. All good things, of course! And don't worry, I'm not stalking you :P.
Look forward to rummaging through your photo collections as it grows! If you don't mind that is :)

Food pictures are evil. They deceive.
They're worse than evil... they were invented by the devil himself!
Sheilz..i 'll give you this - you've got the gig at any restaurant i'd ever open... ANY DAY..!!
and if i didn't i'd recommend you to any friend that did!
Sheila, I'm licking the computer screen... your photos look are superb!
