With graduation day looming in the horizon and an inevitable fate I have to face in the fall, it seems like I'm enjoying the last of days of freedom and me actually being in control of my life. What I have gotten myself into come fall, I do not know. I'm just hoping for the best and bracing myself for the worst. Is this all worth selling myself or my plans know? We'll see - at this point, it doesn't seem like I have much of a say anyway.
My only plan of action now: enjoy this summer as much as I can and come as close to "finding" myself as possible. Or at least, try to gain some form of wisdom before September.
I hope all y'all who's reading this come to our LC's best event of the year!!!
Hey AIESEC!
It is time for AIESEC Indiana's semi-annual International Dinner.
AIESEC Indiana members prepare food from their representative countries and then we have a feast of international cuisine. It is a gathering of AIESECers, friends, and new faces and will be a blast. Of course, there will be an AIESEC party afterwards to celebrate and host our fellow AIESECers! Tell your friends!!!
International Dinner will be: ***April 9th, 6PM-8PM, at the Indiana University International Center***
Perks: Come celebrate with Sheila as she becomes a member of the old maid club and turns 22.
We will be hosting any out-of-towners, and hope to see you there. Come earlier to party over the weekend. RSVP to Rich at rcronin@indiana.edu.
Hope to see you soon, AIESEC Indiana Not only will this be my last International Dinner, but might very well also be one of my last birthdays that I celebrate in the states - so I hope I see some of you come to Bloomington and celebrate my Birthday with me in style! As well, celebrate with me my induction into the old maid club. You know you don't want to miss it!
As with any vacation, my time in Miami has come to an end way too quickly. The few days break has helped in rejuvinating my energy as well as a tan - even if it's an uneven one. Besides the beautiful weather and the warm Atlantic water, I love South Beach for its art deco architecture and its Latino flair. For the rest of the semester, whenever I need a minute to collect myself, I will think back to the deep blue of the sky and the ocean, the sweet smell of cigars, and the smooth, salty feeling of my skin after a weekend spent on the beach.
I was able to meet up with Mike from DC as well as Claude from Purdue. A huge thanks to Claude for showing being so great this past weekend with showing us around as well as being so helpful! And once again, thanks for answering the phone and warding off unwanted attention - have fun in Haiti!
Sheila's rendevous around the globe continues this summer. This time, the adventure will take place in Southeast Asia with the lovely company of Kim and Michelle! In the months of June and July, us three girls will going to the countries of Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
I can't wait!
Then, perhaps Tibet in August? We'll see - fingers crossed!!!
One of my favorite pictures from this weekend, when Adam, Liz, and Carley from Miami of Ohio came down to visit us folks here at Bloomington. It was a great weekend and like Rachel, I don't even know where to begin to describe it. The picture is of Adam, myself, and Rich, taken sometime between dinner and 10pm and switching somewhere between switching from Rolling Rocks to Southpaw. One thing is sure though, everyone needs to come visit AIESEC Indiana and let us show y'all a great time! :-) :-) :-)
Yesterday, AIESEC Indiana hosted a coffee hour at our school's international center. Amongst the people who were present, there was a girl who used to be in AIESEC in Ukraine and a guy who is an AIESECer in Italy right now and previously went on a traineeship to Romania. After meeting the two of them, I started wondering how many other people are there on campus who's had some form of affiliation with AIESEC. Maybe there's tons of AIESECers out on campus right now whom we just don't know about. But regardless, I think it's awesome how AIESEC connects people all over campus and all over the globe.
Despite the dizzying snow fall and the occasional blast of arctic wind, it's quite enchanting when you lift up your head and see the sun shinning in a patch of baby blue sky. Times like this helps winter pass just a little bit faster. Can't wait for spring.
On a side note, I can't believe I'm sick again! This is the third time in three months! The irony is usually I have the immune system of a cow. What luck.
